About the Course
Are you thinking about taking our online photography class for parents to learn how to take better pictures of your kids and get in the frame? Well, we’ve got some great information below all about it!
Format
Because this course is about photography, we decided to make it video-based. That means that we will be talking to directly to you in our teaching portion, and that you’ll be seeing behind the scenes video of us photographing our own kids and showing you concepts like lighting and composition on video. We do include PDFs for the more technical aspects of the course so you can refer back to them anytime.
Platform
This course is self-paced, which means you can have access to it anytime you want, including when you are breastfeeding at 1 am. You can jump from lesson to lesson, watch it in order, or skip a section and come back to it later. The platform also has the option to set the video speed, from .5x to 2x, which for those of us that listen to podcasts and audiobooks at double speed, is really helpful!
Curriculum
The course contains a robust curriculum which caters to everyone from beginners to professionals. We truly believe everyone can benefit from this course. The sections we include are listed below.
Photography Basics: Cell Phone, DSLR, Outdoor Lighting, Indoor Lighting, Composition, Getting Kids Engaged and Getting in the Frame.
Behind the Scenes: There are 8 behind the scenes videos. Tenley covers 4 on her cell phone, and Cristin covers 4 on her DSLR, but we recommend watching all of them because they not only show you how to use your camera, but how to interact with your kids for natural smiles and expressions.
Editing: Cell Phone Editing and Desktop Editing using Adobe Lightroom, both the free version and the paid.
Bonus Features: Photographing Friends during a Pandemic, Making Home Videos on your Cell Phone and Lightroom Presets (which work on mobile or desktop)
