Marin Photoshoot Location: Woods and Bridge

If you are looking for an outdoor session, whether that be for maternity or family photos, I have eight outdoor locations to choose from between San Francisco and Marin County. I’ve written several blog posts, as well as a blurb about each location for you to get some photoshoot location inspiration for each. To read more about them, click here.

After years and years of scouting, I picked these eight because they represent my most requested types of locations, are easily accessible, aren’t crowded and they are just my favorites because they photograph so well and let each family shine! They also represent a range of time frames when we can begin shoots so if you want that sunset light, you can choose one location, and if you need to work around bedtimes and have an earlier start time, I have that covered, too!

If you are interested in the woods and bridge location, this is your post to get some photoshoot location inspiration for this Marin gem located in Novato and learn a little more about the types of sessions here (you can see a larger sample of a session from this location here). It is so versatile with an awesome bridge, foliage, a huge tree with exposed roots, and a creek. While most of the foliage is evergreen, there are some fall colors in October and November. The water level in the creek also fluctuates with the season and rainfall.

My favorite colors to wear here are deep neutrals, with pops of earthy tones to complement the beautiful woods. I love this location so much that I’ve chosen it for my own family photos numerous times, and taken my kids’ grandparents here for photos with them regularly.

Because of it’s versatility and ease (it’s right off the parking lot!), this location can be chosen for a full session, but it’s also the site of many of my mini sessions, which are open to repeat families or families with kiddos older than 10.

If you choose this spot, we begin your session 1.5 hours before sunset. It let’s in beautiful light for the trees and some shade for some seriously beautiful portraits.

Ready to book? You can see the schedule and find a date for your maternity or family session here. I can’t wait to see you there!
