If you are looking for an outdoor session, whether that be for maternity or family photos, I have six outdoor locations to choose from in San Francisco and Marin County. After years and years of scouting, I picked these six because they represent my most requested types of locations, are easily accessible, aren’t very crowded and they are just my favorites because they photograph so well and let each family shine! They also represent a range of time frames when we can begin shoots so if you want that sunset light, you can choose one location, and if you need to work around bedtimes and have an earlier start time, I have that covered, too!

If you are interested in the redwood grove location, this is your post to get some photoshoot location inspiration for this Marin gem located in Mill Valley and learn a little more about the types of sessions here (you can see a larger sample of a session from this location here). The redwood grove location is the quintessential redwood location for all of the tree lovers in the Bay Area. It has a little waterfall, bridge and trail and the most beautiful trees. This location is fully protected, so it’s great on days when other locations might be too windy. The trail is right off of the parking area. Since it can get dark in the redwoods, sessions here will be mid-afternoon, which makes it a great choice for the later nights from March-August when little ones have early bedtimes. This location is good for families of any size and maternity.

Any clothing colors work well here, from soft neutrals to deep greens that compliment the trees, to bright colors for a pop against the backdrop.
